Risks and Safety Information
- Some visual effects, such as the perception of halos or glare around lights under nighttime conditions, have been reported.
- Low-contrast image quality may be reduced compared to a monofocal lens. However, clinical data indicate the reduction of image contrast while using both eyes is none to minimal.
- The ability to perform some eye treatments (e.g. retinal photocoagulation) and/or examinations (e.g. autorefraction) may be affected by the IC-8 IOL optical design.
- Implantation of the IC-8 lens should be considered as a binocular procedure with one eye implanted with the IC-8 lens and the other eye with a monofocal or phakic lens.
- Potential adverse events during or following cataract surgery with implantation of an IOL is similar to the implantation of any intraocular lens.
Ask your eye doctor for a complete list of indications, warnings, and precautions.
The IC-8 lens is intended for primary implantation for the visual correction of aphakia secondary to removal of a cataractous lens in adult patients with or without presbyopia, who desire near, intermediate, and far vision with increased spectacle independence. The lens is intended for implantation in the capsular bag.
